In-House Laboratory
EVCOT has the ability to perform lab work in house, including complete blood counts, blood chemistries, clotting profiles, urinalysis, feline leukemia tests, thyroid testing, and fecal analysis. If your pet needs a test that must be performed in an outside lab, we will either send samples out to a reference laboratory, or with you to go to your regular veterinarian.
Radiography (X-Ray)
We have digital radiography (X-ray) available at our hospital, giving us high quality images, at the blink of an eye. We will send a copy of a CD with you to go to your regular veterinarian. We also have the images stored in our data base, giving us ease of access if your pet should need to visit us again.
Ultrasound
EVCOT doctors have the ability to perform limited ultrasound imaging on an emergency basis. In certain cases, this may help diagnose fluid in the abdomen, or even around the heart, as well as assist with obtaining urine samples, thoracic fluid, or in detecting masses. We do not have a radiologist on staff for full diagnostic ultrasound. Specialists may be available to perform in house ultrasound on a limited basis.
Endoscopy
We also have video endoscopy capabilities for use by EVCOT doctors on an emergency basis or for use by a specialist.
Hospitalization
If your pet needs to stay with us for a few hours, overnight, or over a full weekend, rest assured that he or she is as comfortable as we are able to make them. We strongly believe in treating our patients as if they were our own pets. We have soft bedding for all our patients, with special care given to our elderly patients, or for those with decreased mobility.
Equipment
We have IV fluid pumps, oxygen chambers, as well as oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, infusion pumps, blood pressure monitors, ECG machines, pulse oximetry, three anesthesia machines, and a ventilator in our dedicated surgery suite.
Specialist Consultation
We are fortunate to live in an area with a large number and varied types of veterinary specialists. If your pet needs a consultation or treatment by a specialist, we will do our very best to coordinate a further plan of care with your regular veterinarian, or in an emergency situation, to have a specialist see your pet at our facility.
